How to measure body temperature

An important indicator of health - the body temperature. Usually measured the temperature of the skin, for measuring it in other places (for example, in the rectum) may give biased parameters in the diagnosis of certain diseases.


But the temperature of the skin in different areas varies: it is higher in the armpits and the skin below the torso, neck and limbs. By rule, you should focus on the temperature in the armpits. Normally it varies between 36-36,8 °. True, some people it may be somewhat lower than 36 °, or slightly above 37 °. During intensive muscular work the skin temperature increases. If the temperature exceeds the above numbers for a long time, you should consult your doctor for clarification. We must bear in mind that the body temperature fluctuates throughout the day: the difference between morning and evening temperatures range from an average of 0,3 to 0,5 °. Body temperature should be measured at rest at 7-8 am and 6-7 pm.

The temperature rises, as a rule, many infectious diseases. Lowering it is observed in case of poisoning by various toxins, as well as coma and for some debilitating diseases.
